From a listener
If you’re looking for a place to begin, start walking through the Bible with Pastor Cliff Johnson. His very first episode of The Ancient Path podcast is about the book of Jonah, and it gives you the history, the setting, and what was happening around the specific points in scripture. Context is everything. His commentary drops you deeply into the meaning and propels your own reflection on how it relates to your life. That’s the whole point: what can we learn and implement as we walk our own path?
I’m familiar with the extraordinary sermons of Pastor Johnson from his past tenure in Michigan, so when I saw him doing a podcast, I knew it would be outstanding — and it is! He researches thoroughly, explains things in detail, and has a way of making it memorable. His podcasts are interesting, educational, and captivating. The love he has for his work and for sharing scripture in a deep and compelling way shines through. I’m grateful that he has created a way for us to continue our journey by walking the path along with him.
He is truly a light in this world. Listen to his teaching and understand your Bible at a whole new level. Pastor Johnson was made for this, and I’m so glad he’s inviting us to walk the path with him.

Episode 3 walks through Jonah 3: the reluctant preacher, Nineveh's unexpected response, and the mercy of a God who was already at work in the people Jonah had written off. Who have you written off — and what simple step of obedience might God be inviting you to take?
