Worthy

Angela's voice

Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.

Revelation 4:11

The word "worthy" carries weight. It speaks of value, worth, importance. In the ancient world it was a word people ascribed to emperors, conquerors, and gods. In this passage, heaven ascribes it to God alone.

He is worthy to receive glory, the visible display of His greatness. Honor, our reverence and submission. And power, the acknowledgement of His supreme authority and strength. This is less about God receiving something from us and more about us finally recognizing what is already true of Him.

And notice why He is worthy: You created all things. True worship begins with a right-sized view of the God who made everything. Nothing exists by accident. Creation was not random; it was intentional. By His will everything came to be, and by His will everything is held together, including you, including this morning.

Simply put: God is Creator of all. God is Designer of all. God is Sustainer of all. He is worthy. Before the day starts telling you what deserves your attention, center yourself on the One who deserves it most. Say it out loud if you need to: You are worthy.

Closing prayer

Lord, You are worthy. Not because of what You give me, but because of who You are. You are Creator of all and Sustainer of all. You deserve all the glory, honor, power, and praise. Help me live this day in awe of You. In Jesus' name, amen.
